National Metropolis Conference
Datum: 03.04.2008 - 06.04.2008
Ort: Halifax
In April 2008, the National Metropolis Conference will be held in Atlantic Canada for the first time. This event will provide a tremendous opportunity to understand how immigration and diversity vary across the country, particularly in regions that have not experienced high levels of immigration recently. Plenary sessions and workshops will explore this variance and how it influences, or is affected by, local, regional and national policies and programs.
The 10th National Conference will showcase the six priority areas that will guide Metropolis in the coming five years: 1) citizenship and social, cultural and civic integration; 2) economic and labour market integration; 3) family, children and youth; 4) housing and neighbourhoods; 5) policing, security and justice; and 6) welcoming communities.
